4. Running Person A with each Person B

If you have a good number of segment match files, you don't want to have to match each of them to Person A one by one. Instead, DMT can do them all for you.

To run double matching of Person A with each of many segment match files, do the following:

Ensure your segment match file for Person A is listed in the File A box. Find it with the button.
Ensure your MRCAs are already set up in your People File. See Step 1. Set Up Your People File and MRCAs.
Ensure all the segment match files for each Person B that you want to match are in a folder on your computer, or a folder and some subfolders.
Find the folder containing the Person B match files with the button.
Ensure that is checked. If you want subfolders as well then check .
Optionally select if you want DNA Painter files to be produced for each A versus B run.
Ensure that is not checked and press the button.

DMT will produce a results file in Excel format that contains a Chromosome Map page and a People page and optionally a DNA Painter file in comma delimited format for Person A in combination with each Person B. It will also produce a Log file in text format.

You can press the

button to take you to the directory where the Person A segment match file is, which is also where the result will be.

For example, running a Person A using a folder containing 10 Person B segment match files will produce 10 result files, 1 log file, and optionally 10 DNA Painter files:

The names of the result files and DNA Painter files identify Person A and Person B for you.
